  Blood Brothers

Blood Brothers is considered by many to be the best stage show that the Isle of Man has seen this year! The massive production had an equally massive staging and technical infrastructure, and the boys from Manx Lighting were asked if they could help.
The touring crew brought with them their own Sound and Lighting systems. These systems left virtually all of the in-house systems redundant, so the first job involved dismantling the Gaietys lighting rigs to provide space for the touring systems.
The lighting rig included a combination of generic and intellegent lighting. Lighting positions were employed on the buildings dedicated lighting bars, various other positions were also setup. The set also had specific lighting positions for asthetic and effect lighting.
Close working relations were formed between us, the staff of the Gaiety Theatre and the touring technicians. With so many simultaneous operations, communication was a very important aspect of the successful get-in.

During the performance Manx Lighting staff were employed in various positions around the building, including Followspots and even the stage itself.
Immediately after the curtain went down on Saturdays final performance the job of dismantling the set began. This had to be undertaken first to provide access to the Lighting and Sound systems. The get-out started at 10:30pm and finished at approximately 4:30am on Sunday morning, at which point the Gaietys in-house systems had to be restored. Final finish was at approximately 6:30am.
